Studio anime Bones merilis pernyataan di situs resminya pada hari Rabu, 3 Juni 2020 yang meminta kepada masyarakat umum untuk tidak mengajukan saran atau ide cerita, termasuk karakter, nama dan hal-hal lain terkait pemasaran. Pernyataan ini dibuat untuk menghindari kemungkinan terjadinya sengketa yang timbul terkait hak cipta.
Hal ini dapat dimengerti mengingat kasus pembakaran studio Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) terjadi karena tersangka menuduh studio tersebut mencuri ide ceritanya. Meskipun CEO KyoAni, Hideaki Hatta telah membantah bahwa ia dan stafnya tak pernah mengetahui nama tersangka dan tak melihat namanya dari daftar pengirim novel ke perusahaan dalam program Kyoto Animation Awards.
